You may ask, what is it that can be done with TOS,GEM and GDOS all in C? Well
I use the C language for two good reasons and one not so good reason......
First, C is a mountain to be climbed - for hobby type purposes - not so good.
Second, I am expected to know about all kinds of computing systems, and I am
using the ATARI with C to learn a little about Unix and Unix practices. GOOD .
Eventually, I expect to be able to extend the notion of the "smart-terminal" to
meet ever present ever increasing scientific requirements.
Third, I use C to reform the DESKTOP to suit my needs w/ universal traveler's
short-wave radio time, seconds, etc. Obviously, most people are not found here.
I provide two tid-bits, which can be readily extended to meet your needs with
your own coding extensions for your own private usage or your own publication.
Sooner or later , I will merge several more utilities into these two concepts.
I really started this whole sequence in order to learn GDOS text manipulation.
Little did I realize that I would have to debug the several textbook examples,
provided in the root directory of this disk. CJPurcell . Thanks .
gemdate.acc
gemdate.c
An accessory which works in any resolution to display the date at top-center,
in GEM desktop mode only. The program waits to reappear, automatically, after
any use of TOS mode when you return to the desktop display.
colordat.acc
colordat.c
An accessory which works in medres to force a green screen , forever, and to
display the date of the autoboot, forever, 'til the next autoboot. Lowres
needs some little more fiddle for best colors. Otherwise works well in color.
